Fraud Week
National Consumer Fraud Week (19 - 25 March) is an education and awareness campaign run by The Australasian Consumer Fraud Taskforce aimed at fighting scams.
Scammers stop at nothing to target victims, including adopting a personal touch. So whether you're answering a phone call, opening email, chatting online, shopping or even looking for love, if you suspect a scam, slam it by:
- Resisting the urge to respond - press ‘delete’, throw them out or hang up.
- Be wary of the personal touch - watch out for scammers posing as someone that you know and trust, or pretending to know you.
- Taking care of your identity - personal details are private and invaluable – keep them that way.
