A final check that this is the right credit option for you. Credit cards are a secure payment method for short-term borrowing needs such as everyday purchases or unplanned expenses, with some cards offering additional features like rewards. However, there are instances where it might be worth considering another form of credit:

  • You have a longer-term or specific borrowing need, like a car or home renovations. In this case, view our Personal loans
  • You want a repayment schedule with fixed repayments and a defined loan end-date. In this case, view our Personal loans
  • You need ongoing access to credit to help with short-term cashflow, but don’t want a credit card. In this case, look at our Overdraft

<<Supermarket cashback offer: This cashback promotion is available when you apply and are approved for a new Vertigo credit card between 3rd March 2022 and 31st August 2022, then use it at a participating supermarket up to 31st December 2022. You will receive 5% cashback on each eligible spend at a participating supermarket, capped at maximum of $400 per card account. Cashback will be paid as a statement credit to your Vertigo credit card within 30 days of each eligible spend. Your credit card account must be open in order to receive the cashback. If your card is suspended or cancelled, the credit will not be applied. Cashback is only available on one credit card account per customer. This cashback does not form part of the account’s minimum monthly repayment.

Participating Supermarkets: Each supermarket’s eligibility is based on its merchant classification. While most major and many independent supermarkets are participating, those not classified in the Supermarket and Grocers merchant category will not be participating. Examples of supermarkets not participating include: Coles Express, Costco, Metropolitan Fresh, wholesaler supermarkets and supermarkets attached to petrol stations.

Spend Exclusions: Gift card or eGift card purchases at participating supermarkets are not counted as part of eligible spend. Eligible spend also excludes fees, cash, cash-equivalent transactions, third party payments such as AfterPay, BPAY, PayPal or PayPal equivalent.

Existing credit card customers who held a Bank of Melbourne, St.George or BankSA in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer.

^^Vertigo First Year Card Fee Waiver: The first-year card fee waiver is available when you apply and are approved for a new Vertigo credit card between 20th October 2021 and 31st August 2022. After the first year, the card fee will be debited to your account on the 12-month anniversary of the Card Fee date and annually thereafter.

1 55 Days Interest Free: Receive up to 55 days interest free on your purchases if your Monthly Payment Balance is paid in full by the due date shown each month.
