What is a credit card transaction dispute?

A dispute is when there is an issue between merchant and customer in relation to a purchase made. Alternatively if you are concerned there may have been a fraudulent transaction on your account, check out our fraud help.

How to apply

Follow these steps to dispute a transaction:

  1. Check with all other cardholders the transaction was not theirs.
  2. If you know who took the payment then contact them to see if the matter can be resolved directly.
  3. When you don’t recognise the transaction use the Look Who’s Charging feature in the Bank of Melbourne App.
  4. If you have followed the above steps and still need a resolution, then lodge your dispute.
