As a proud partner of the Penguin Foundation, we have a way to save money, and penguins.

The Penguin Foundation raises vital funds for scientific research, habitat protection, education and wildlife rescue programs carried out by Phillip Island Nature Parks to protect and enhance Phillip Island’s unique natural environment and native wildlife today and for future generations.

With Bank of Melbourne’s support, a new Little Penguin weighbridge is now in place on the Summerland Peninsula. The ‘Bank of Melbourne Weighbridge’ allows the Phillip Island Nature Parks scientists to study Little Penguin feeding patterns at sea, providing valuable health information for their conservation today and into the future without disturbing them in their natural environment.

Phillip Island Nature Parks

Phillip Island Nature Parks is a unique not-for-profit conservation organisation that operates complementary ecotourism experiences on Phillip Island. Habitat within Phillip Island Nature Parks supports significant populations of Little Penguins, Hooded Plovers, Short-tailed Shearwaters and other international migratory bird species, and mammals such as Eastern Barred Bandicoots, Koalas, Possums, Black Swamp Wallabies, Australian Fur Seals and Bats.

Adopt a penguin with our kids Incentive Saver account

For every Incentive Saver account opened at a local branch for a child aged 15 years or under, Bank of Melbourne will adopt a ‘Little Penguin’ for a year, which funds the Foundation’s research, environment and education programs.

Not only will this help ensure the future of one of Australia’s creatures, but Bank of Melbourne will also give each child that opens an account a children’s Four Park Pass to Phillip Islands Nature Parks, which includes the world-famous Penguin Parade, Churchill Island, Antarctic Journey and the Koala Conservation Centre*.
