To use Cardless Cash, you will first need to complete the easy one time set-up - Simply tap 'Get started' to accept the Cardless Cash Terms and Conditions and complete the Secure Code SMS authentication.
From the screen that displays the cash code, you have an option to send cash to friends and family or pay someone by tapping 'Share via SMS' and sending an SMS that includes the cash code and amount to that person.
Under the Cardless Cash T&Cs you are responsible for sharing a Cardless Cash code. The Bank is not liable for you incorrectly sharing the code with an unintended recipient. An active Cardless Cash code can be cancelled by you in the Mobile Banking app or via calling our Customer Service.
Cardless Cash is secure and incorporates multiple controls. These include:
Mobile Banking authentication.
Secure Code SMS which is required to set-up Cardless Cash and create the 'bind' relationship between you and the smartphone.
Your withdrawal limits - 3 Cardless Cash ATM withdrawals a day, with a daily withdrawal limit of $500 and a weekly withdrawal limit of $1000.
A maximum of 1 active cash code per customer at any time.
Random 6-digit cash codes are single use and expire as soon as they've been used or after 3 hours.
You are covered if your Internet/Mobile Banking credentials are compromised and used to make Cardless Cash withdrawals under 'Bank of Melbourne Protect' - our Internet/Mobile Banking security guarantee.
Any suspected fraud related incidents should be escalated to 'Risk & Fraud Operations' following your business as usual process. Where fraud is broader than Cardless Cash, 'Risk & Fraud Operations' will refer this to 'Group Investigations / Group Protective Services'.
