What level of cover do you need?

Here are the main features of the 3 levels of cover. Full details available in the PDS.

Essential Care

Provides a basic level of cover to protect your Building against loss or damage.

Essential Care also comes automatically with these additional benefits:

  • Sum insured safety net: up to 10%
  • Emergency accommodation: up to $10,000

You're covered for loss or damage caused by:

  • Theft
  • Storm, flood, fire, lightning, earthquake, impact, explosion
  • Escape of liquid
  • Malicious acts, riot and civil commotion

You’re also covered for legal liability of up to $20 million.

Quality care

Covers your Building against loss or damage from a wider range of events, with additional benefits.

Quality Care also comes automatically with these additional benefits:

  • Sum insured safety net: up to 20%
  • Emergency accommodation: up to 12 months or 10% of the sum insured (whichever is less)

Cover Limits

Some items are covered up to a certain limit. For example:

  • Locks and keys: up to $1,000
  • Rainwater tanks and solar heating: up to $3,000

  • Theft

  • Escape of liquid
  • Malicious acts, riot and civil commotion
  • Accidental breakage of glass

Premier care

All of the benefits of Quality Care with the extra protection of cover for accidental loss or damage.

Premier Care also comes automatically with these additional benefits:

  • Sum insured safety net: up to 30%
  • Emergency accommodation: up to 12 months or 10% of the sum insured (whichever is less)

Making a claim

Call the police
Contact the police on 000 if the damage is malicious, property has been stolen/lost or your home was illegally entered.
Damage inspection
Don’t allow anyone to repair the property until we’ve had a chance to inspect it
Next steps
If no further information is needed, we’ll settle your claim within 10 business days after we’ve received your documentation.
