The Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode services are an additional layer of security used by participating online retailers to validate your transaction, ensuring you are the cardholder making the online purchase. This layer of security is provided free of charge through Bank of Melbourne’s Secure Online Shopping service.
1. All you have to do is continue to make online transactions, however, from time to time we may require you to enter a ‘One Time Password’, which you will receive via SMS or email, when purchasing from participating online retailers. This is to ensure you are the cardholder making the purchase.
During these transactions, a screen will pop-up requesting you to enter a ‘One Time Password’. Simply follow the prompts on the screen and enter the ‘One Time Password’ that has been sent to your nominated mobile number or email address. When the pop-up screen appears, you will have a choice to send the ‘One Time Password’ to your mobile number or email address you have previously provided us.
2. You will need to ensure that you provide us with your current mobile number and/or email address so we are able to send you a ‘One Time Password’.
We will use the mobile number or email address you have previously provided to us, however, if your mobile number or email address details are not correct, you may not be able to complete your online transaction.
