Transferring money

In most cases, transfers between your accounts will go through immediately. However, please allow one working day for transactions to be processed.

Yes. You can schedule a transfer up to 24 months in advance. You can also set up regular payments daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly for up to 24 months in advance.

Yes. You can set up a recurring payment for a specific amount. However, you cannot schedule a recurring payment for the 'Minimum' or 'Full Amount'.

If you are transferring between your personal accounts, there is a cumulative daily limit of $1 million.

If you are transferring between business accounts, the following applies:

1. If you log on to Internet Banking using your personal access details, a cumulative daily limit of $25,000 applies

2. If you log on to Internet Banking using your company access details, a cumulative daily limit of $1 million applies.

The two balances that appear on your account details screen are your current and available balance. Your current balance is the total amount of your account including pending transactions. The available balance is the amount that is accessible for you to utilise.

Yes. You can transfer to other banks, or to somebody else's account within Bank of Melbourne, by using either 'Transfer to an Account in Australia’ or ‘Pay to a PayID®’, both located within the Transfers, Payments & BPAY® menu.

To transfer to another account in Australia, you will need either:

• The BSB Number, Account Number and Account Name, or
• Their PayID® details, e.g. mobile number or ABN

You may choose to save these account details for future use; they'll be available within your Internet Banking account should you wish to transfer money to that particular account again.

Please be aware that when transferring to an account in Australia using the BSB and Account Number, we will not check the Account Name you provide. Please ensure that the BSB and Account Number you provide are correct.

In some cases, the financial institution receiving the funds may reject the payment if the Account Name is incorrect. However, the receiving institution is not obliged to verify the Account Name.

Payments made to a PayID^® or BSB and account number will be sent via our standard way of making payments (Payee Transfer) or Osko^® where possible. We determine the payment method based on the payment details.

Note: Osko^® payments are processed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are typically received in a few seconds but may take longer. For Payee Transfers please allow up to 2 Business Days for the payment to be received by the Payee.

If your Osko^® payment is unsuccessful, in some cases you will be able to resubmit your payment.

Yes. You can schedule a transfer up to 24 months in advance. You can also set up regular payments daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly for up to 24 months in advance.

If you have set up the account via Internet Banking, there is a limit of $5,000 per payee per day and a maximum cumulative limit of $25,000 per day. For example, if you want to pay 5 different accounts, you can transfer $5,000 to each account per day.

To increase the daily limit to $100,000 please follow the below steps.

Desktop

1. Click Transfers & Payments from the left hand menu.
2. Click Payee Accounts from the right hand menu.
3. Click the payee you wish to increase.
   If this is a new payee, see "How do I add a new Payee" then come back to these steps.
4. Click Increase Payee Limit, then Confirm.
5. Authenticate this via Secure Code.

Requests submitted before 4:00pm AEST Monday to Friday will be processed the same day.

Mobile

1. Tap Services to open the menu, then tap Manage Payees from the My Payments section.
2. Tap the payee you wish to increase.
3. Tap the Limits button
4. Tick the box accepting conditions and tap Continue.

Requests submitted before 4:00pm AEST Monday to Friday will be processed the same day.

Once a transfer has been confirmed via Internet Banking, we are unable to stop or cancel payment.

If you have made a payment incorrectly, please contact our Internet Banking Helpdesk on 13 22 66 (+61 2 9155 7800 overseas) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

There are two procedures that can be initiated:

1. Recall - A recall will endeavour to retrieve the funds from the credited account. This is a manual process and may take up to 6 weeks (not including weekends). Please be aware that we cannot guarantee return of the funds. If the recall is successful the funds will be credited to your account. If the recall is unsuccessful you will be notified in writing. Read our Transaction Accounts includes the Transaction, Savings and Investment Accounts: Terms and Conditions (incorporating fees and charges) for more information relating to this.

2. Trace - A trace will locate the destination of the funds. This is a manual process and may take up to 2 weeks (not including weekends). Fees may apply.

You can delete Payee accounts at any time by logging on to Internet Banking. Unfortunately, you cannot edit Payee accounts. If you wish to edit a Payee account, you'll need to delete it and create a new one.

Yes. You can set up a transfer to a group of Payees using the 'Group Payments' function, located within the 'Transfers, Payments & BPAY menu. You can also set up regular transfers daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly, or schedule a single payment for a later date, up to 24 months in advance.

You can include up to 20 Payees in one group.

Yes. You can edit or delete groups at any time by logging onto Internet Banking.

Adding a PayID^®

1. Logon to Bank of Melbourne Internet Banking
2. Search for Pay to PayID®
3. Select Add a new PayID® to enter the details.

Add a BSB and account number

1. Logon to Bank of Melbourne Internet Banking
2. Search Add a new payee to enter the details.

To view a list of your ‘Payee accounts’, simply visit the ‘Transfer, payments & BPAY’ menu. On the right hand side, under the heading ‘Manage my’, select the link ‘Payee accounts’. This will display a list of all your saved payees.

If you're receiving a deposit into your Bank of Melbourne account from an overseas account by telegraphic transfer, your payer may be asked to enter the Bank of Melbourne SWIFT code/SWIFT BIC Address, which is: SGBLAU2S.

If you are receiving money from a US Bank, your payer may be asked to enter the Routing Number, which is: 021 000 021.

Your payer may also be asked for the address for international payments which is your branch address.

You will also have to provide your 13 digit account number. This is the last 3 digits in your BSB & your Account No. which is available on your account statements or internet banking.
